You know, I look forward to a lot of movies. Still, hearing about some movies that get me SO excited it's not even funny. The live-action Transformers movie was one such. While there was a good chance the movie could have sucked I was incredbly excited. Well, it's happening again and as luck would have it it's another 80's property aimed at me when I was a kid. Yes, it's a live action version of G.I. Joe
. That creates a significant level of giddyness in me to start. Then, there is the news about the movie recently released, or to be more exact the pictures about the movie that were recently released.
If you haven't seen or heard, the pictures are of Snake-Eyes
. Seeing the costume was nice enough as it really seems to be based off of the recent interpretation done through Devil's Due
. Still, add more excitement to that as somehow I missed the fact that Ray Park
will be playing Snake-Eyes. Yes, we're talking Darth Maul himself folks. Please know that I'm not just excited because it's "Darth Maul." I think Ray Park is quite the martial arts badass for the movies he has been in. While all the movies may not have been good (Ballistic: Ecks Vs. Sever
) or you may not have even actually seen his face (or head in Sleepy Hollow
) his physicial performance has always been there.
I must say that I really am geeking out quite a bit over this. The rest of the cast looks pretty interesting too, and while I may not be a fan of the director (Stephen Sommers
) I do know that sometimes with the right property a director's style meshes well and this may just be the case with G.I. Joe.
